What You Get from a Drone Mapping Flight

A mapping flight gives you two things. The first is an orthomosaic: a single flat, top-down image of the whole site, stitched together from hundreds of overlapping photos. The second is a 3D model you can rotate and view from any angle.

Both are visual products, and that is the honest description of them. They are the right tool for showing a site, planning around it, and recording how it looked on a given day. They are not a survey. We do not offer survey-grade deliverables, so if you need certified measurements, earthwork volumes or cut-and-fill figures, a licensed surveyor is who you want.

Who Uses Drone Mapping

Construction and development teams use it to show an entire site in one image, which no ground-level photo can do. Real estate developers use it to convey a parcel’s shape, access and surroundings in a way a flat site plan never manages. Landscaping and civil contractors use it to plan around a site before work starts, and to document how it looked when they arrived.

If your site changes over time, repeat flights build a visual record of each stage that stays useful long after the job closes out.

Turnaround and Airspace

Turnaround is quick, and we will give you a firm date when we quote, once we know the size of the site. Weather affects when we can fly, and so does FAA airspace approval. Anything within about a mile of a major airport needs longer for authorization, so send the address early and we will start that process straight away.
