The Challenge
Neil’s Controlled Blasting wanted marketing footage of the job for their website, and the most dramatic part of it, a helicopter long-lining mesh panels to the slope, was also the part that demanded the most care. Before flying, we coordinated directly with the helicopter pilot, who set a designated flight path for the lifts. Our drone stayed outside that path for the entire shoot and always yielded right of way to the helicopter, while the rope crews were covered from the ground.
What we did
- Aerial and ground photography across a live rockfall mitigation job on Interstate 80
- Helicopter long-line lifts captured from the air as mesh panels were flown to the slope
- Rope access technicians photographed from the ground as they worked the rock face
- Wide canyon aerials showing the treated slope, the highway and the Truckee River
- Video shot alongside the stills on the same visit
The Result
Neil’s came away with a full set of stills and video of the job for their marketing and website. They were happy with how everything turned out, and they’ve booked us again since.
